Waikiki Landmark is a new project consisting
of 35 floors of prestigious leasehold condominium residences
near the Convention Center. There are two triangular shaped towers
plus a 5 level block of luxury penthouses bridging the two towers.
The net effect is a distinguished landmark building. A unique
feature is the 15th floor outdoor recreation area highlighted
by a lap pool for serious swimming, a large free form pool with
a waterfall and two spas. Security is one of the most elaborate
with a closed circuit/cable television system allowing residents
to control access for their guests. Residents have assigned parking
of one, two or three spaces. Penthouse owners have five spaces.
All stalls are located within a 12 story secured parking structure.
Conceived, developed and constructed during the Japan bubble
economy years, Waikiki Landmark was destined to become one of
the most prestigious condominium properties in Hawaii. Then the
bubble burst and the developer went bankrupt before a single
unit could be sold. Both buildings remained vacant for many years
while the banks tried to find a buyer through foreclosure.
