Walk down Waikiki on the beach side of Kalakaua Ave. in the direction of Diamond Head. You will soon come across the Kuhio Beach chess tables. Local residents and chess enthusiasts from all over the world play here starting from morning to way past sunset. Like all things Hawaiian, the atmosphere is friendly and it is easy to request for a game.
